Educational Background: BS in Education/ Kent State University
Favorite Saint: St. Teresa of Calcutta because of her endless love, devotion and care of the poor and suffering. She treated everyone with love and dignity. She was a very faithful and humble servant of God. She gives me the example of how God calls us to care for one another with great love.
Hobbies: Gardening- I enjoy working on my flower gardens in the summer. Also, I've taken many pictures of my children over the years. I enjoy working on putting all the pictures in albums and remembering all the fun times we had as they grew up.
Favorite Place Traveled to and Why: Topsail Beach, North Carolina. In 2018 my children surprised me with a beach vacation to Topsail to celebrate my 60th birthday. They spent over a year planning the trip without me knowing anything about it. I thought my husband and I were going on a weekend trip with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. When we arrived at a house on the beach I opened the door and was greeted with "Surprise!" shouts from all 7 of our children, their spouses, my mom and almost all of my siblings, nieces and nephews! It was the greatest surprise ever! We enjoyed a wonderful week together. This trip to Topsail will always be my favorite place traveled to.
Favorite School Subject and Why: Math and Reading. I liked working at solving math problems. There was always a definite answer and I liked the challenge of trying to figure it out. I also really enjoyed reading books as a child. I need to make more time for it as an adult.
Describe Your Favorite Memory at Holy Family School:
We've had all 7 of our children graduate from Holy Family so we have many wonderful memories here from over the years. The graduation of our youngest was a special memory because at that point we were so grateful to have been able to provide all of our children with a strong faith-based education.
A fun memory was when our son Joseph was about to graduate (2009). He had helped to convince the principal, Mrs. Fournier, to let the 8th grade boys play a game of football on recess under the supervision of Mr. Coudriet. (Football had been banned from recess for several years.) Watching the boys play was a lot of fun. Then, with the assistance of Father Joe Mamich, the entire 8th grade class got into the building at night after returning from their class trip, and decorated the front office to thank Mrs. Fournier. They filled her office with balloons and crepe paper and left a football shaped cake on her desk. It was great to see the kids from this class and their parents having so much fun working together to surprise the principal.
